Exemption of Release of Student Information to Military Recruiters
Both federal and state laws require that school districts provide military recruiters access to directory information for students who are juniors or seniors in high school.  The Oroville School District will comply with the laws to provide names, addresses and telephone listings of junior and senior students to military recruiters, when requested, unless a parent, or student who has already turned 18 has 'opted out' of providing such information.  To opt out, you must provide a written statement to the principal of your student's high school stating that you do not want your students information released to military recruiters.
